Catalyzing Change
Ecosystem restoration is one of the greatest challenges of this decade

Here at Coralku, we know that it takes bold vision, a knowledge-based strategy and the support of communities, partners and stakeholders to restore degraded ecosystems. As we face the challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss, we are part of a transformational movement that aims at improving our livelihoods through environmental sustainability.

Home: Who We Are

WHO WE ARE

Coralku is a research-driven coral restoration and conservation non-profit enterprise. We are a group of dedicated marine scientists who have come together to fight the decline of coral reefs. We work with universities, businesses, stakeholders, NGOs and devoted individuals who want to join our restoration mission.

Home: What We Do

CORAL RESTORATION

Enhancing ecosystem health through systematic coral propagation

We are working on multiple coral reef sites to proactively restore degraded and damaged areas that are unlikely to recover naturally. Through a set of techniques and measures, we aim to enhance ecosystems processes that facilitate recovery and replenishment naturally.

MARINE RESEARCH

Coral reef restoration & management driven by science

With our organization’s mission in mind, we strive to fill fundamental knowledge gaps in coral reef and ecosystem restoration science in Malaysia. Changes in the oceans are occurring at unprecedented pace, and we believe that only through scientific research and monitoring we are able to protect, restore and sustainably manage coral reefs.

Adopt a Coral Programme

Building capacity for coral reef restoration by involving dedicated individuals

We believe that there is no singular answer—every little bit helps when it comes to making an impact. There are many meaningful ways you can help us succeed in our mission. One simple way to give back to coral reefs is to adopt a coral with us.

"Coralku, coralmu jua"

“Biodiversity is the totality of all (inherited) variation in the life forms on earth, of which we are one species. We study and save it for OUR great benefit. We ignore and degrade it to our great peril.”

Edward O. Wilson
